Here at iHB, all of our grillz are custom made, genderless jewellery pieces, designed to fit your teeth comfortably and safely. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions relating to custom grillz, dental moulds, pricing, care, and safety.

Are grillz removable?
Yes! Grillz are removable, they are just an accessory designed to be taken on and off when you like.
How do grillz stay on?
Each grill is custom made to fit the anatomy of the wearer. They are held in place naturally through retention at the point of contact between your tooth and the inside of the grill, similar to the way a retainer or mouth guard fits.
Should I clean my grillz?
Cleaning your grillz is super important. If you don’t clean your grillz, you may as well have not cleaned your teeth! Regular cleaning helps reduce dental hygiene and health risks associated with wearing grillz.
You should clean your grillz before and after every use, as bacteria can become trapped on the inside and potentially damage your natural protective enamel layer. We will provide you with full care guidance when you receive your grillz, and you can also find a detailed breakdown on our grillz care page.
Will my grillz fit me forever?
Unless you undergo orthodontic treatment or experience dental trauma, your grillz should fit for plenty of years to come. That being said, everyone’s mouth is different and teeth can slightly shift over time.
Factors such as previous dental procedures, orthodontic treatment or whether you wear a retainer can affect how much your teeth move. Generally, the movement is minimal and won’t affect the wearability of your grillz. If you have any concerns, please contact us and consult your dentist for professional advice.
How long can I wear my grillz?
We do not recommend wearing grillz for extended periods without breaks. The short answer: You can wear them throughout the day, but you should remove them every few hours and take them out when eating, drinking, smoking, exercising, or sleeping.
The long answer: Wearing grillz continuously may affect your oral health in the long term. This is because Grillz cover the enamel surface, preventing saliva from reaching the tooth. Your saliva acts like a natural mouthwash and plays an important role in fighting bacteria, remineralising your teeth and neutralising acids.
Additionally, grillz add a layer of approximately 1-1.5mm to the surface of your teeth. This can alter your bite (occlusion) and may cause jaw discomfort if worn for long periods. Taking regular breaks helps minimise this.If you have any questions, reach out to us and of course, always consult your dentist if you are unsure.
Can I eat and drink in my grillz?
We do not recommend eating or drinking while wearing grillz, please remove your grillz before doing so. Food and residue will become trapped on the inside surface of your grillz and the micropores of the metal, affecting oral hygiene which can lead to dental health problems.
Occasional drinking is unlikely to cause issues especially if you clean your grillz thoroughly. However, long-term exposure to acidic drinks can weaken enamel and increase the risk of cavities.
Always remove your grillz before eating. Eating while wearing grillz will affect your bite, which may lead to enamel wear, chipping and microcracks, or jaw discomfort. If you have any questions, reach out to us and of course, always consult your dentist if you are unsure.
What if I smoke?
We recommend removing your grillz when smoking. Smoking can cause metals, particularly silver, to oxidise and lose their shine. This can usually be polished and restored if it happens accidentally, so don’t panic!
How long will my grillz take to be made?
Once we have finalised your design, your grillz will be ready for shipping or collection in about 2 weeks.
What if I live outside the uk?
We will be introducing international mail orders soon. This will involve sending you a dental mould kit with detailed instructions to complete at home. From this, we can create your custom grillz.
Can I return and refund my grillz?
Because grillz are custom made, all sales are final once production begins. It is important that you follow the mould instructions carefully, as we cannot take responsibility for incorrectly fitting grillz due to inaccurate moulds. Please read our terms and conditions in full before purchasing.
Can I get grillz without a dental mould?
No. These are fully custom pieces, so we require a dental mould to ensure the correct fit.
What metals do you offer grillz in?
Our standard options are sterling silver and 9K yellow gold. We also offer 14K, 18K, 22K, and 24K yellow or white gold on request. Please contact us if you are interested in other materials.
Do you offer warranties for your pieces?
We do not offer formal warranties. However, we complete all our work to a high standard of craftsmanship so we are sure you will be satisfied with your grillz. If there are any genuine manufacturing errors, we will happily resolve them.
Can I make changes to my order after I’ve placed it?
Unfortunately not. Once we have started production of your piece, no changes can be made.
Do you do custom grillz designs?
Yes! All our grillz are custom made and we welcome any designs you might want.
Are grillz safe for your teeth?
We make our grillz to a very high standard and pride ourselves on creating great fitting products. Because of this, the risk to your dental health should not become a concern. However it’s essential to maintain proper cleaning to ensure you are taking the steps to prevent damaging your teeth. Grillz are accessories and not dental devices, they should be worn correctly and with care.
You should always consult your dentist beforehand if you have any uncertainty and read our terms and conditions in full.
Can anyone get grillz?
You must be over the age of 18 to get grillz from us. Aside from that, most people can get grillz. Contact us if you have any specific queries about your suitability for grillz.
Can I get grillz if I have braces?
No, you will need to wait until you get your braces off before getting grillz.
How much do you charge per tooth?
We charge £90 per tooth in sterling silver and £150 per tooth in 9K gold, regardless of design complexity.
There is an additional £30 fee for the mould kit. Extra costs may apply for engraving, gemstones, or higher gold karats. Please contact us for a detailed quote.
